Transit
The India eVisa is not valid for transit. An airside connection under 24 hours at a designated airport is fine, but leaving the airport in transit requires a separate Grounded Transit Visa (GTV).

Complete the application form
Fill in the guided form with accurate personal and passport details, and choose the correct validity for your trip (30-day, 1-year, or 5-year e-Tourist). Apply at least 4 days before arrival and within the applicable 30-day or 120-day window. Each traveller needs their own application and a separate passport.
Upload your photo and documents
Upload a recent front-facing photo on a plain white background (JPEG, equal height and width, 10 KB–1 MB), a scan of your passport bio page (PDF, 10 KB–300 KB), and any category-specific document (PDF, 10 KB–300 KB). Make sure everything is clear — applications can be rejected if photos or documents are unclear or not as specified.
Pay the fee
Pay online by credit or debit card. Every fee is itemised before you confirm, with no hidden charges. Pay at least 4 days before your expected date of travel.
Receive your authorisation by email
We review your application and email you if any document needs re-uploading (usually within about 24 hours). Once approved, your Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is emailed within the processing time for your chosen speed.
Check it is GRANTED and print it
Confirm your status shows as GRANTED, then print a copy of the ETA to carry with you, along with the same passport you used in the application.
Travel and get your e-Visa stamped on arrival
Enter India through a designated airport or seaport (e-Visa entry is not permitted at land borders). Present your printed ETA, have your biometrics captured at Immigration, and get the e-Visa stamped into your passport.

Yes. Processing can be slower around weekends and Indian public holidays, so allow extra time and apply well before your travel date rather than at the last minute.
No. e-Visa holders may enter only through designated ports: 34 designated airports (including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, and Goa) and designated seaports. At land borders, entry is restricted to the check posts of Raxaul, Rupaidiha, Darranga, and Jogbani, although you may exit from any authorised Indian Immigration Check Post.
The 30-day e-Tourist visa is valid for 30 days from your first arrival, with multiple entries — ETAs granted from 12 June 2026 onwards show "multiple entries" where older ones showed double entry. Your first arrival must fall within 120 days of the ETA being granted. The 1-year visa is valid for 365 days from the date the ETA is granted, and the 5-year visa for five years from grant, both with multiple entries. For the 1-year and 5-year visas, total stay in any calendar year must not exceed 180 days.
No. We only handle the India e-Tourist visa (30-day, 1-year, and 5-year) and the e-Arrival Card. The e-Tourist visa covers tourism, sightseeing, casual visits to friends or relatives, and short yoga programmes, and does not permit business activity or paid employment in India. If you are travelling for business meetings or a conference, apply for the e-Business or e-Conference visa directly on the Indian government portal.
Any foreigner arriving in India within 6 days of departure from a Yellow Fever endemic country must carry a valid original Yellow Fever vaccination certificate on arrival. Without it, you may be quarantined for 6 days.
No registration is needed for stays of 180 days or less. If you stay continuously for more than 180 days, you must register with the concerned FRRO or FRO within two weeks after the 180-day period expires.
The e-Arrival Card is a mandatory online arrival-information form — not a visa — that travellers complete within 72 hours before arriving in India. It is separate from your e-Visa.
No. The e-Visa is non-extendable and non-convertible, and it is not valid for Protected, Restricted, or Cantonment areas. If you need a different category or a longer stay, you must obtain the appropriate visa.
Yes. Every traveller, including each child and infant, must have a separate passport and a separate e-Visa application, and the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival.
